Amr Addas is an Adjunct Professor at the John Molson School of Business and the Goodman Institute, Concordia University, and a member of the Core Faculty for the Sustainable Investment Professional Certificate (SIPC) program, and has taught at McGill University. He is also a Research Associate and responsible for Industry Relations for the Desjardins Chair in Sustainable Investing at Sherbrooke University. In his capacity as a financial consultant, Amr works with financial advisors and portfolio managers, offering portfolio construction services and newsletters, as well as heading portfolio construction at WealhKernel, a UK-based robo-advisor. As Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Finance & Sustainability Initiative (FSI) in Montréal, Amr is also involved in a number of volunteer sustainable investing activities, including being a member of Finance Montréal’s Working Group on Sustainable Investing. Amr obtained his MBA from the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor in 1995 and his B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from the American University in Cairo in 1991. Amr is an active member of the CFA Institute.
Nick Robins works at the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), where he is co-director of the Inquiry into the Design of a Sustainable Financial System. Before joining UNEP, he was Head of the Climate Change Centre of Excellence at HSBC in London from 2007 to 2014, where he produced investment research on issues such as clean tech and climate risk. Prior to HSBC, Nick was first head of Sustainable and Responsible Investment (SRI) research and then head of SRI funds at Henderson Global Investors.
Nick is a founding member of the City of London’s Green Finance Initiative, is a visiting fellow with the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics and is also a member of the advisory boards of the Climate Bonds and Carbon Tracker initiatives.
Andrew Behar is CEO of As You Sow, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing environmental and social corporate responsibility. Founded in 1992, As You Sow envisions a safe, just, and sustainable world in which environmental health and human rights are central to corporate decision making. Previously, Andrew founded a clean-tech start-up developing innovative fuel cell technologies for grid-scale energy storage and a biofuel start-up. He is a member of the board of US Social Investing Forum (US-SIF), on the Real Impact Tracker advisory board, and was named one of 30 “Eco Rock Stars and Environmental Mavericks” in Origin Magazine’s August 2015 issue. His book, The Shareholders Action Guide: Unleash Your Hidden Powers to Hold Corporations Accountable was published in November 2016 by Berrett-Koehler.
Sophie Purdom graduated from Brown University in 2016 where she co-created the Brown University Sustainable Investment Fund, an endowed giving option managed by the Brown Investment Office. In parallel, Cary Krosinsky and Sophie co-taught the course “The Theory and Practice of Sustainable Investing” and co-edited the book, Sustainable Investing: Revolutions in Theory and Practice, due for publication in January.
Sophie is an Associate Consultant at Bain & Company in Boston. She serves on the Advisory Council for the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society. She will be attending Harvard Business School.
Rob Berridge is Director of Shareholder Engagement at nonprofit Ceres, where he works with investors and companies on climate change, sustainability and governance issues, as well as various projects for the Ceres Investor Network on Climate Risk and Sustainability.
Rob has a degree in environmental studies from Brown University and a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
